    Ronald Reagan
    ESFP

    ESFP (3w2)

Ronald Reagan personality type is ESFP, and that was not good for him as president, as I will explain. ESFPs need to be in a position of authority. They need to feel as though they are contributing creatively to the function of the organization they are in—and they need to feel that this is important. And if they're not contributing creatively, their self-esteem is going to fall, and they'll become unhappy.

So they have to have a position of authority. ESFPs have that, but they also have the creative force of the Si. So it's a very tricky combination. The Si can easily be sacrificed for an exaggerated sense of responsibility, which will cause them to become very frustrated with being in an inferior position. This is what happened to Reagan. Reagan was an ESFP subtype, and he was very happy to be in charge. He was happy to be in his own movie. And he was happy to be president. But he was not happy to be in a lesser position, which is why he felt he had to reverse course. When you're in a lesser position, you don't feel creative. You don't feel as though you're contributing anything creative to the function of the country.
