He was quite the conversationalist.
He was taught early on that there was no reason he had to talk about himself, when his father (an INFJ himself) had no problem telling him every single thing the boy did wrong. He was given compliments, but he wasn't lavish with them, and was told they would be earned, not earned in an instant. He was encouraged to connect with others, but also reminded that he had no obligation to do so. He was told that, when he was in a dark place, he needed to reach out for help, but he wasn't told how to do so.
