According to an interview with a former classmate of Woo's in Korea, Woo was a serious student in school who also liked playing video games. He was also a member of the school's theatre club, where he acted in several school productions.
In a separate interview, a source close to Woo claimed that he was an introvert who preferred playing video games to socializing.
When asked about his hobbies in an interview with Sports Seoul in June 2016, Woo said he enjoyed Japanese culture and painting, but wasn't particularly interested in sports. He said when he was in elementary school, he joined a debate club but quit when he lost interest.
During a 2015 interview with a student magazine in his hometown of South Korea, he said he "doesn’t like to talk about himself." He also said he didn’t have a favorite genre of music, but that he loves listening to "both rock and pop."
