"It's a relatively new personality type that I'm sure will be added in the next few years," Torrington said. "It's based on the research of my colleague, Jamie Pennebaker, who's a Ph.D. in neuropsychology at the University of Texas at Austin. His research is showing the relationships between personality type and brain processes.
"He believes in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator in the sense that it captures the human experience. But he believes there are some things that are wrong with it, specifically that it's not multidimensional. He argues that it doesn't capture what he calls 'personality structure.' It just captures certain traits.
"So, what they're doing is they're creating a new scale that is designed to capture personality structure, which is something that the MBTI doesn't do.
