Anne Sexton personality type is INFJ, and it is the only one of the five to relate to both of these "fun" functions. The INFJ can be manipulative and manipulative is not fun.
I think the INFJ is the least happy of all the types, since it is the least likely to be in touch with its own emotions, which often leads to painful self-discovery, especially in young children. Being an INFJ isn't bad, but it can be downright miserable.
So, the INFJ's function in the Sexton model is clearly inferior, but what about its position in Sexton's personality types? Rather than being in the middle of the tertiary function, it is much closer to the top, or apex, of the tertiary function. This is consistent with the fact that INFJs are more emotionally aware, but less socially adept.
This may explain why Sexton described INFJs so disparagingly in her book When Rabbit Howls.
