    Glenn Jacobs was born in 1974 in Norfolk, Virginia. He has one sister, who is three years older than Glenn. Glenn's father worked in the Navy, while his mother worked in a factory. Glenn's parents divorced when he was seven years old, but they remained friends. Glenn ran cross-country throughout high school. He was a member of the Norfolk Academy of Arts and Sciences (NAAS) varsity track team during his junior year. Glenn has stated that he has "always loved the outdoors," and also loved to hunt and fish.

    Glenn's father was a member of the John Birch Society, a conservative political organization which opposed what it saw as communist influences in the United States. Glenn's parents were members of the church which his father attended during his father's job at the Navy base where he worked. Glenn graduated from NAAS in 1992.

    Glenn Thomas Jacobs (born April 26, 1967) is an American professional wrestler, actor, author, businessman, and politician. As a Republican, he is the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. In professional wrestling, Jacobs is signed to WWE, where he is known by his ring name Kane. He began his professional wrestling career on the independent circuit in 1992, wrestling in promotions such as Smoky Mountain Wrestling (SMW) and the United States Wrestling Association (USWA) before joining the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 1995.[6] Jacobs played various characters until 1997, when he was repackaged as Kane, the younger half-brother of The Undertaker, with whom Jacobs would alternatively feud or team as The Brothers of Destruction.
