In his book, Flegel Reeves describes generations of the family that have been involved in the development of the present version of the car. In the 1950s, a small company called Leland-Fisher was founded, and the company’s founder, Henry Leland, was a pioneer in the field of electric vehicle technology. The Leland-Fisher company made only one electric vehicle, the Leland “Fisher Electric”, which was based on an early version of the Leland “horsecar”.
Henry Leland passed away in 1963. The company was then sold to another electric car pioneer, Frank Lucas. Lucas founded Lucas Industries in 1972, and Lucas Industries started making the “Lucas LMH”, a version of the electric car that was based on the “Lucas Horsecar”. Lucas Industries closed in 2000.
Oddly enough, the company that bought Lucas Industries is none other than EV West, which is now making electric cars under the name “EV West”.
Flegel Reeves is the successor and son of Dimo Reeves. After his father's death, he assisted the Survey Corps in their takedown of the Military Police Brigade and then overtook the position of CEO of the Reeves Company.
