Q: What was your first experience with programming?
A: I've always been a bit of a programmer. I was in my early teens when I created a simple compiler that would translate BASIC programs into machine code. I wrote it on paper and then typed it on my mom's Royal typewriter so that I could have a toy computer to play with. That didn't work out so well, but the point is that I've always loved writing code.
Q: Where'd you learn how to program?
A: I grew up in the Detroit area and went to college at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. My first programming class was in BASIC at age 13.
