Todd Fang personality type is INTJ, which is interesting because that's the same personality type I am. I think I remind him a lot of his mother, and he says that he can tell whenever I am starting to catch on to something, because I have these warm, motherly eyes. He also says that he thinks he's more introverted than extroverted, so I try to not put too much pressure on him to be the one to initiate any conversations.
Having kids makes you really appreciate and respect your partner. When you're alone, you can be your true self, but with your partner, you have to be the person you think they want you to be. I try to be very patient with him and understanding of his needs when we're together as a family.
I also think that having kids makes me more empathetic. I'm always trying to think about his perspective and how I would feel if someone had done what he did to me. If anything, I think it's made me very aware of how everyone has their own problems and different obstacles they have to deal with every day.
The hardest part of being a stepmom is learning to trust and rely on someone else again.
