Mayor McDaniels personality type is ESTJ, which makes sense, since their main goal is to be efficient. If the situation is urgent, they will get shit done. I’m sure he’s well aware that he’s the only one that can turn the ship, and that makes him feel like a king.
I can see why he’d want to overhaul the offense, and I think he’s well within his rights to do so. The problem is that it’s not so much about the offense as it is about his players and how he interacts with them.
He has a legitimate problem with his lackluster WR corps. While the stars of the offense are indeed present, if you look at the team as a whole, we’re lacking in talent everywhere. We need an infusion of talent, and that’s what he has to deliver.
I think you’re right about the selfishness of the offense. If we want to win games, we need to win games, not just reach conference championship games. However, McDaniels doesn’t seem to realize that he needs to make sure that he has a team that can actually win games.
