Mao's father was a very strict man. He always had a bad temper and he would always beat Mao whenever he got angry. One day, Mao's mother passed away due to illness. Mao's father blamed her for her mother's death and would not let Mao go to school.
Over time, Mao became very lonely. She would often skip school to spend time with the neighbors. Mao's father would always find out and beat her. Eventually, Mao became an outcast in the community and she felt like she did not belong anywhere.
Mao's father would not allow her to leave the house. He forbade her from meeting anyone outside the house and he forbade her from seeing her friends. Mao would sneak out at night and meet up with her friends to play games, eat snacks, and even go swimming.
