Al Jardine personality type is ISTP, as he's very focused on details and is a bit of a perfectionist. When the band was making its second album, Albini was unhappy with the band's progress and with the way it had been recorded. He wouldn't speak to the band for three months and it wasn't until Steve Perry (the band's drummer) said, "Hey, you're the one that's always talking about the importance of perfection. Why don't you do something about it? You're the one that's always talking about how important it is to get it right. Why don't you do something about it?" At that point, Albini decided to show up and do something about it. It was a huge influence on him and on the band as well.
Without Albini, the band would have probably released a different album. There is no way they could have gone to Los Angeles and gotten the same sound and the same results they got with him as producer. He's too talented to be wasted on just this one project.
Alan Charles Jardine (born September 3, 1942) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter who co-founded the Beach Boys. He is best known as the band's rhythm guitarist and for occasionally singing lead vocals on songs such as "Help Me, Rhonda" (1965), "Come Go with Me" (1978), and "From There to Back Again" (2012). His song "Lady Lynda" became a UK top 10 hit for the group in 1978.
