    Levine was born on December 18, 1979, in San Fernando Valley, California, to Sylvia Anne (née Linn), a nurse, and Lester Levine, a truck driver. His parents were young and divorced when he was still a child, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather. He attended a private school in Tarzana, California, and then North Hollywood High School. He was not very successful at his high school, and when his father became ill, Levine had to drop out in order for him to be able to stay home and take care of him.

    Levine met Adam at the age of 17 and formed the pop rock band 'Maroon 5'. The band's name was originally formed when Levine and his friends wrote the words "Maroon 5" on the walls of their garage. The group originally formed to perform covers of Top 40 hits like "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Hey Ya!", but eventually started to write their own original material.

    Adam Noah Levine (born March 18, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He is the lead singer for the pop rock band Maroon 5.Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Levine began his musical career in 1994, when he co-founded the band Kara's Flowers, of which he was the lead vocalist and guitarist.
