Jack Anderson personality type is ISFP, but I believe the MBTI is the better way to categorize him. I think he's one of the most complex characters in the book, and he's possibly the most sympathetic, but still not "good" character, in the story. He's got a lot of complex feelings about himself and about other people, and that's what makes him interesting, I think.
The story is about a dystopian future where people wear masks and hide their identities and lives and thoughts and feelings and everything else. The masks are part of a set of rules that everyone must follow. The masks are chosen by the government and represent your job, your station in life, and your personality type. I don't want to go into detail about the plot because it might ruin things for you if you haven't read the book, but basically Anderson is a mask maker by profession, but he's also a mask hopper. He moves from job to job and city to city in order to try and stay one step ahead of the government that has outlawed masks in this world.
