Shinazugawa is the current captain of the First Division. He was formerly the captain of the Second Division, but resigned his position after Kenji Toyama was promoted to captain. He is nicknamed "The Emperor" by his men for his authoritative leadership style. To date, he has never lost a match, allowing him to be promoted to captain of his division. He is married with three children.
Appearance
He is a tall man, slightly shorter than the average height for an adult man. His eyes are usually closed, but open when he is angry. He wears a dark blue suit with a white shirt underneath. He has a silver mustache and goatee, and wears glasses. His hair color is mostly black, although it may be white at times. Shinazawa started to grow a beard since his promotion to captain, but still has some stubble.
Personality
Shinazugawa is a commanding leader who believes that the best way to motivate his men to battle is to look them straight in the eye and command them. He believes that anyone can be a great soldier if they are willing to do their duty and follow orders.

Sanemi Shinazugawa (Kanji: 不死川 実弥) is a major supporting character of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the current Wind Hashira.
Sanemi is also the older brother of Genya Shinazugawa, a Demon Slayer. Before becoming a Hashira, Sanemi, along with his partner Masachika Kumeno, defeated the former Lower Rank One, Ubume, with Masachika dying as a result.
