Chris Hadfield personality type is INTP, and he is a textbook example of a modern-day incarnation of the rarest of the rare, the INTJ.
Of course, it's all been in service of the Star Trek and space exploration. Hadfield was an accomplished academic in his younger years, graduating with a degree in physics and political science from the University of Toronto. He went on to earn an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan and a master's in engineering from the University of Waterloo — and then, just before he was scheduled to step on board the international space station, he was picked for Star Trek: The Next Generation. His interest in space, and in helping people understand it, came when he was in high school.
"I had a science teacher who would talk about astronomy when we went out looking at stars and planets and stuff and it got me started," Hadfield said. "I had a really good teacher and I really enjoyed his classes and I kept up with it through high school and through college."
Hadfield said that his teacher had him take the course "Introduction to Astronomy" — and that's when he decided he wanted to go into astronomy.
"I loved it," he said.
